I'm very proud of what's been accomplished in the last 6 years (see below), but there is still more work to be done.
I am asking for your vote on the November 3 election.
Vote Vicki Burghdoff...VOTE VICKI.
Thank You so much for your time and attention.
Accomplishments to Date:
Securing Strong Leadership for LMC: Played a pivotal role in selecting and appointing Lake Michigan College’s new President. Currently serving as Chair of the Transition Team, working hand-in-hand with leadership to ensure institutional success, stability, and growth for today’s students and future generations
Expanding High-Demand Career Training: Instrumental in bringing employer-aligned programs to the college. This expansion includes high-impact Apprenticeship Programs, the Police Academy, and technical certifications like the Marine Mechanic Technician and Physical Therapy Assistant.
Guiding Students to Efficient Degree Paths: Strongly advocated for early, accessible career information and planning on campus. This effort resulted in a new program launching this fall, allowing students to clarify their career goals from day one so every single class and credit counts directly toward their degree.
Connecting Grads Directly to Local Jobs: Spearheaded the launch of on-site campus job fairs, bridging the gap between graduation and employment by introducing local employers directly to our skilled graduates.
Fiscal Responsibility & Community Stewardship: Serve as a dedicated, fiscally responsible steward of community tax dollars, and efficient institutional spending.
As I stated above...I'm very proud of what's been accomplished in the last 6 years, but there is still more work to be done!

Experience
Working for the State of Michigan, I experienced first-hand, how critical it is for training to be responsive to the needs of the local community. Training must be driven by local employers and their ever changing needs and requirements. When this happens everyone in the community benefits; employers needs are met, people (graduates) go to work locally, and the community sees a healthy and robust economy that can weather the storms that come it’s way
For a community to succeed, each individual must be able to believe in themselves and have a vehicle that allows them to achieve their full potential. I see LMC as that vehicle, and feel extremely fortunate to have been given the opportunity to serve as an LMC Trustee. I look forward to continuing to make a difference in my community.
